Uber riders can pitch investors during Thursday’s #UberPitch
Uber will allow Uber users to pitch one of eight investors in 15-minute car rides on Thursday. The event, called #UberPitch, will bring “top investors” to riders from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Uber users can enter the promo code PITCHMTL in the ‘Promotions’ section of the app. It will unlock the UberPITCH view at the bottom of the screen. If connected, a car will arrive at the Uber user’s location with one of eight investors in the backseat: “You can’t pick which one,” wrote Uber.
Those Uber users selected will have 15 minutes to ride with your investor and pitch your idea or startup. All UberPITCH rides will be free and will end at the pickup location. Only those in downtown Montreal, Plateau Mont-Royal, Mile-End, Old-Montreal and Griffintown will be eligible to participate.
Uber is calling #UberPitch a collaborative project that facilitates innovation within local startup communities.
“We are pumped to help connect local entrepreneurs with the resources they need to accelerate the growth of their ventures.”
Among the investors will be ex-Dragons François Lambert, a managing partner at Impulse Capital and Dany Vachon, the founder of Winner4Life. Others include Alexandre Shee, an analyst at Real Ventures, Luc Poirier and Sophie Forest from Brightspark, Jean-François Marcoux and Edouard Gaussen from White Star, or Antoine Nivard from iNovia Capital.
To help prospective pitchers perfect their paragraph performances, Uber will host a pitch class in collaboration with Concordia University’s District 3 on Wednesday night, April 6th. To register, please fill this form before April 5 PM today.
