Tournée des Entrepreneurs returns for Bromont, Mont-Tremblant

LP Maurice and Credo Productions’ Tournée des Entrepreneurs is back for its third consecutive year this fall. The annual Quebec trip took place in Bromont on Saturday and continues to Mont-Tremblant this weekend.

According to Les Affaires’ Matthieu Charest, this year’s tour will bring back all the old favourites from past tours: workshops, networking, advice on entrepreneurship and cold beer. The tour travels throughout Quebec towns, addressing local tech-makers, creating workshops and even talking with local council.

As usual, Maurice, Credo’s Christian Bélair and Innovation Ark’s Noah Redler will serve as the tour’s organizers. The only difference this year will be the entrepreneurs taking part.

In Bromont the entrepreneurs will be: Phillippe Poirier, CEO of BugBites, Caroline Arnouk, president of OPA Technologies, Simon De Baene, cofounder of GSOFT, Celine Juppeau, founder of Kotmo, Charles Vincent Hodder, cofounder of LocalLogic, Genevieve Rousseau, president of Bonapp, Guillaume Langlios, founder of Space & Dream, Antoine Azar, cofounder of Thirdshelf and Kahina Ouerdane, cofounder of Nuveka - Management & Mediation.

In Mont Tremblant the entrepreneurs will be: Felix Marzell, art director of DIX square, Gabriel Bran Lopez, president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Montreal, Laurent Maisonnave, founder of Seevibes, Mathieu Lachaîne, founder of Ubios, Elizabeth Stefanka, founder of Stefanka Lingerie, Melanie Heyberger, cofounder at Rachel’s Box, Claudine Labelle, founder of Fillactive, Olivier Bourbonnais, cofounder of SmartHalo, Judith Fetzer, cofounder of Cook It, Patrick Messier, president of Messier Designers, Guillaume Langlois, founder of Space & Dream.

We caught up with three of the Montreal entrepreneurs heading to Mont Tremblant and asked what their thoughts were on the impact of the annual event.

Stekanka Lingerie’s Elizabeth Stefanka told MTLinTECH that the main objective of the weekend is to put people together to solve challenges. Mainly though, it’s a shared exchange of knowledge through the visitors and the locals.

“This is a bilateral relationship between the entrepreneurs from Montreal and those we’re going to meet in Mont Tremblant. We’re going to bring them something and they’re going to teach us. It’s really based on an exchange of experience,” said Stefanka. Her business provides clothing retailers with tech solutions that help find the perfect fit for a women’s body. “For the Montrealers it brings us to see new places in Quebec and we get to visit other industries and businesses as well.”

Laurent Maisonnave visited Gatineau in 2015 as part of the Tournée des Entrepreneurs and was back in Bromont this weekend for the event.
“I’ve been an entrepreneur for 10 years and I know the importance of getting out there and meeting new peers. In Montreal there’s sometimes a microcosm of people and ideas, so meeting entrepreneurs from other horizons is very healthy. It helps to think out of the box,” said Maisonnave, the founder of Seevibes, a leading provider of smart audience advertising.
“I love the format of the weekend. It’s very friendly and it helps break down barriers so we can share with each other our challenges in life more sincerely.”
For Mathieu Lachaîne, CEO of Ubios, it’s simple: he who teaches, learns.
“I’m pretty excited at this opportunity to learn from my peers,” said Lachaîne. His company created a smart wall unit that replaces conventional thermostats and light switches. “I’ve been blessed in receiving a lot of teachings from the community and I’ve made it my duty to pay it forward to build a strong economy from entrepreneurial values.”
