Greencopper, technology solutions provider for Osheaga and Pitchfork, acquired by Providence-backed Patron
Greencopper, the Montreal-based company ranked #7 on Fast Company’s list of World’s Most Innovative Companies in the live events category last year, has been acquired by US-based Patron Technology.

Both companies provide technology solutions for live events—Greencopper provides innovations ranging from cutting-edge mobile apps to powerful web and social media engines to some of the most prestigious music festivals in the world, including Osheaga, Pitchfork, and le Festival d’été de Québec, while Patron is an industry-leading ticketing and event experience software company.
“We are so proud that our Montreal-based company is making rank #7 in the category of live events where Twitter ranks #3,” Greencopper CEO Gwenaël Le Bodic told MTLinTECH last year. “This recognition first belongs to Greencopper’s 300 partner festivals who open their events as exciting technology playgrounds.”
Greencopper will continue to provide its clients with innovative technology as it integrates with Patron. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In 2016, more than 13 million fans at over 300 worldwide festivals used Greencopper’s technology to enhance their event experience.
“Greencopper’s innovative technology perfectly aligns with our mission to enable Patron Technology’s clients to create deeper and more profitable relationships with their ticket buyers, fans, and supporters. Greencopper extends Patron Technology’s product offerings by providing an increasingly important and innovative technology component for live events. We look forward to working with Gwenaël and the Greencopper team to build Greencopper’s presence on a worldwide basis,” said Patron Technology CEO Marc Jenkins.
Greencopper is based in Montreal with a local presence in France, the United States, Denmark and the Netherlands and now provides digital solutions for more than 300 events in over 25 countries annually.
“We are thrilled to join Patron Technology,” said Gwenaël Le Bodic, Greencopper founder and CEO. “Greencopper looks forward to providing its unique mobile expertise to the group with an international reach into more than 25 countries. By combining Patron Technology’s assets with those of Greencopper, our company will be able to offer its 300+ event portfolio an extended set of services and technologies.”
