Cossette Health, Highline BETA bring startup innovation to healthcare
Startup innovation is coming to big healthcare corporations.
In an effort to bring startup innovation to healthcare organizations, Cossette Health has announced a new partnership with startup co-creation company Highline BETA. The pairing will provide healthcare organizations the opportunity to co-create and invest in digital startups.
Cossette Health, the digital health practice within Cossette - Canada’s leading marketing communications agency - provides integrated communications and digital services to the health industry, while collaborating and working on new ventures. Highline BETA, which evolved out of successful pre-seed venture capital firm Highline, launches new ventures with leading corporations and founders. They work with corporate partners to identify key interests and/or concerns and invests pre-seed funding to co-create startups specifically tasked to address and engage these areas.

“We’ve been collaborating with Cossette Health for a while, and we’ve been really looking at where the gaps are in the ecosystem and the value proposition for startups,”Marcus Daniels, co-founding partner of Highline BETA told MTLinTECH. “One of the big gaps is validating the problem areas and then also helping startups get distribution.”
“Healthcare can be a complex space, so having an insider’s perspective allows us to better understand how to innovate from within,” said Daniels. “Bringing the startup co-creation model to large corporate players who not only understand the complexities of healthcare but also have scale to create reach within the industry will result in high-quality experiences for consumers, patients and healthcare providers.”
Highline BETA and Cossette Health will work together to bring this initiative, which will include internal and external accelerators models, to key players across Canada’s healthcare space. The partnership will help healthcare organizations market innovative digital solutions, leveraging a startup methodology to successfully disrupt companies from the inside out.
“Our clients are looking to tap into the healthcare startup ecosystem as an organic opportunity to grow their innovation offering,” said Joe Dee, managing director of Cossette Health. “This new model is a way for them to directly discover or create new entities, and to go after meaningful opportunities that evolve their business position while staying ahead of the curve.”
With the goal to co-create and actively invest in digital health startups, the partnership is set to impact healthcare on a national and global level.
