Alpine Growth Partners invest in Datavalet Technologies, provider of customizable wireless evnironments

It seems you rarely have to venture far from a wifi zone these days, and that’s thanks in part to companies like Datavalet. Now you can login to wifi at your bank, at the mall, and at your university.

Alpine Growth Partners (AGP) has invested in Datavalet Technologies Inc, a Montreal-based designer, installer and manager of customizable wireless environments. No financial terms were disclosed.

AGP invests in and grows small to medium sized businesses in Canada and the US, and the partnership is intended to accelerate Datavalet’s long-term growth. As part of the deal, Alpine Managing Partners Toby Chang and Daniel Forest have joined the company’s management team.

Founded in 1998, Datavalet’s services reach more than 9,000 customer locations and manage more than 120 million user sessions annually. The company designs, installs and manages customizable wireless environments that scale and adapt according to changing needs, platforms and end-user expectations. They serve everything from transport and hospitality venues, to banking and financial institutions, retail stores, government buildings, and universities.

“We are very excited to be partnering with AGP. Its investment into our business will help us widen our range and extend our reach”, said Robert Soussa, Managing Partner of Business Development at Datavalet. “We welcome the additional resources and bench strength, which will allow us to not only accelerate growth, but also to increase our strategic capabilities.”

“Datavalet has cultivated strong customer and partner relationships and has become an emerging leader in its industry”, said Daniel Forest, Managing Partner at AGP, who is now acting as Managing Partner, Finance & Corporate Strategy at Datavalet. “Expect to see lots of activity in the years to come as Datavalet continues on its path as an independent leader in Wi-Fi managed services in North America.”
